P.O.W. #22

Just got back from 4 days in Austin, TX. We were out there for the 1st round of NCAA’s. We had 6 athletes qualify to the National Championships which are in Eugene, OR next week and we also set 3 school records as well. Overall it was a great meet for the Gauchos and I am very proud of all of them! On top of a great track meet, I also got to enjoy a lot of great food! I think I am going to become a vegetarian for the next week or so due to the amount of beef I ate while I was there.  I think the following picture does a pretty good job of summing up the trip.

SB Awards!! No folks, not the ESPY Awards…the S-B Awards. A great night of getting to see everyone in non-athletic attire and honoring the many Gaucho achievements of this school year. Congratulations to all the Gauchos on a great 2009-2010 year!

No, Alison (my boss) and I did not win any awards…but we just wanted to pretend! However, the track team cleaned up pretty well bringing home the Women’s Team of the Year and both Male and Female performance of the year.

P.O.W #20

Busy and exciting weekend! Big West Championships!! I am flat out exhausted. It is Tuesday and I am still trying to recover. The women brought home a 2nd place finish (missing the 1st by a mere 5 points!) and the men fought hard for a 4th. I am so proud of this group and feel honored that I got to help coach them this season.

For those wondering top 8 score in each event. The point breakdown is 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. (i.e. 10 points for 1st place, 8 points for 2nd, etc.) So, as you can see…lots of points coming from this distance side.

Next race is 1st round of NCAAs in Austin, TX next week. As of right now Danielle, Breanne, Katie, Ryan, Scott, and Julian are in while Crystal and Justine are on the bubble. Gauchos are doing big things this year!!!

P.O.W #19

I am getting in a bad habit of doing this late…but here is this week’s photo. Went to the Reef and Run with Amber on Tuesday to watch some friends run. Amber had some plantar fasciitis so she wasn’t able to run. It was fun getting to hang out, but it made me really want me to run! We followed up the run with some hotdogs, veggies, and Biggest Loser. Hopefully in the next few weeks I will be able to join them on the run.

While waiting for the runners to loop back to us I decided to fiddle around with my camera a little. Here’s my attempt at getting “artsy”.

P.O.W. #18

Many, many, many pictures this week. So many that I had to make a slide show to show them all. I took Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off of work because my Aunt and Cousin were in town and I needed to get another round of Prolotherapy. I had a GREAT 3 days (minus the 20+ shots I had put into my foot). Wednesday was spent at Magic Mountain. There were NO lines and it was awesome getting to ride any ride we wanted without having to wait! Of course I had a monster headache about halfway through the day, but I powered through and continued to ride to my hearts content.  Thursday we went to Long Beach. We went to look at the Queen Mary, P.F. Changs for lunch, and Ducky Boat Tour to end the day.  It was SUPER windy, but the tour was fun and I got to drive the boat and chat with the super cute Captain so that was even more fun! 😀
